MACEFCOOP offers many advantages as a trading partner and is proud of its achievements and the cooperative efforts of its membership and staff. But it is also keen to deal directly with the challenges that remain and those that it may face, wherever these are within its own control.
The main categories of challenges are:
Limitations in processing facilities
Support shortcomings
Infrastructure difficulties
The need for greater and more reliable
turnover, income generation and capital acquisition
The requirement for member and staff development with regard to literacy and enhanced commitment to organisation goals, including data collection.

Opportunities
Access both to Mamfe and the Sections can be difficult during the rainy
season because of inadequate and poorly maintained roads.
Our specific difficulties are:
Inadequate processing facility. Final sorting, drying and grading of
produce are done at SDV Douala hence there is lack of independence on
processing aspects.
Telephone, email and fax facilities are at present very poor due to badly
maintained government communication installations
Late execution of some contracts due to non dependent factors
Late deliveries from sections (members) due to very poor rural roads
Low literacy level of members
Undedicated field staff
Low turnover
Late payment to members
Poor statistical collection by members and section staff
Lack of sufficient running capital
Undedicated section executive members
